Unfortunately in 2020 due to the Covid 19 outbreak and following the
restrictions to attempt to contain the transmission of the virus, including
travel restriction and periods of quarantine, to preserve health and safety of
the athletes and all other participants it was decided to cancel the event, like
most world sport events. This year we are committed to deliver a safe event,
following the Covid-19 prevention plan, that will be published shortly on the
event web site to minimize the risk of transmission of Covid-19. In Italy the
situation is currently still serious but sports competitions of national
interest are currently allowed in accordance with the specific protocol adopted
by the sports organization organizing the event, by DPCM of 2 March 2021 http://www.governo.it/sites/governo.it/files/DPCM_20210302_0.pdf
Each Team is responsible to exercise maximum care for its
team members before, during and after the event. All participants must follow
the measures in the OC covid-19 Protection Plan at all times, including the
wearing of masks at all times except in the boat, on an ergometer or at meals,
social distancing and regular disinfection, among the other measures published
by the OC.
Please note that for participation in these sports competitions entry into Italy
is allowed for athletes, coaches, and accompanying staff who, in the fourteen
previous days have stayed in or transited in foreign countries, including
countries from which entry into Italy is prohibited, under the certain
conditions, such as fulfillment of some mandatory declarations, including reason
for moving for the participation to the sport competition, certification of
having taken in the 48 hours prior to entry into Italian territory, a PCR or
antigenic test with a negative result.

The Memorial Paolo d'Aloja International Regatta will be a good test for Teams
for the start of the international rowing season and return to competitions
after a long period. The regatta this year will be staged one week after the
ECQR and the European Rowing Championship taking place in Varese. Many National
Federations have already expressed their interest to participate and we expect a
high level of competition.
